Catarina Esteves

Catarina Esteves is a Ph.D. candidate within the H2020 EU Nutri2Cycle project.

As an agriculture engineer, she was enrolled in a master’s degree in Agronomic Engineering focusing on the production of fruits, vegetables, and wine.

Catarina has always shown interest in the environmental impacts generated from agricultural practices. In 2020, she defended her master’s degree thesis on the use of organic fertilizer, produced from black soldier fly larvae within a circular economy framework. Since she was interested to pursue her Ph.D. studies within the same field.

Catarina joined recently the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA) in Lisbon, Portugal to research and work on the recovery of organic materials and composts for Precision Fertilization of permanent crops, to close the CNP loops and reduce agricultural waste.
