Erica Montemayor

Erica is a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Agri-food Research and Technology (IRTA) and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia working under the supervision of Dr. Assumpció Antón and Dr. August Bonmatí. She completed a M.Sc. at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Interdisciplinary Studies in Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability, with a specialisation in Urban and Industrial Ecology. In addition to N2C, she is involved in the H2020 project Organic-PLUS, estimating the environmental impacts of organic agricultural practices. Her thesis titled, “Environmental impact accounting of organic agricultural systems: advancing inventory, biodiversity and ecotoxicity modelling approaches”, aims to improve life cycle assessment modelling to better reflect organic practices, such as ameliorating inventories for organic fertilizers. She is also an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, teaching Life Cycle Assessment of products and processes.
