TEAGASC latest updates within Nutri2Cycle

18/03/2021

Ms. Elizabeth Bourke of St Mary’s College in Arklow, Co. Wicklow conducted her school science project on the topic ‘Nutrient recycling efficiency using bio-based organic fertilisers’ by taking part in the Nutri2Cycle partner Teagasc’s field investigation on Spring Wheat trial in 2020 using bio-based fertilisers. She showed a keen interest on nutrient recycing from various organic fertilisers and participated in crop head counting and yield data to identify how recycling nutrients perform in comparison to synthetic chemical fertilisers. She presented her project in Ireland’s BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition and won Department of Agriculture sponsored award in the ‘Biological and Ecological’ category. The video link of her talk on the project can be found here: https://player.vimeo.com/video/496611328
